Yes — a lockable, tamper-resistant bait station is designed to keep the bait away from cats, dogs and children while still allowing rats access. Always lock the station with its key, secure it so it cannot be lifted or tipped over, and site it flush against a wall where pets cannot reach inside.

Where should I place a rat bait station?

Place bait stations tight against walls, fences and the runs where you have seen droppings or gnawing, because rats travel by edges rather than crossing open ground. Space several stations 5–10 metres apart around the affected area and check them regularly, topping up the bait until activity stops.
